Evanescence Poem by Alexander Thomas

Evanescence

Rating: 4.5

Life in a flash,
From quintessence of being to dust,
Vanished in the light,
Exploding in time,
Into forever,
Through a storm of brilliant sparks,
In a burst,
With a puff of white smoke,
To be as a cloud dissipating,
Enveloped and consumed by winds.

Joys, loves, relations into oblivion!
All absorbed into the almighty all,
A radiant wave in the viscosity of time,
Everything fades to be ephemeral.

Memories flicker,
Faintly with a glimmer,
Retaining a warm afterglow,
In rarefied air,
Just essence,
The lustrous residue remains,
A lingering testament to passion's glory.

A struggle between light and dark!
Darkness eventually consumes,
Still that soaring flare in the void, eternal!
Oh what colour, what intensity,
What brightness!

Truly a sublime vision to behold,
Live a life beloved, blazing and bold!
From embers of stars to one day fire anew,
Life is surely a divine dream come true!
