Every Bridge Poem by Raymond J Wright

Every Bridge

Troubled, I know...
I’ve burnt every bridge
I have ever crossed
But, if I lose you
I lose everything

And nothing stills
This stirring in my heart

Regrets and broken moments
Crowd my every waking thought

I tried so hard with you
Unlocked all the doors, and
Opened every window
Let in all the light
That the shining sun could muster
And everything was right

Still, I guess I must have failed you...
For you have surely gone
