Every Day (This Is My Ex-Boyfriends Poem, not mine)

Every day
I find myself
Wondering how it is
That when we're together
We can never find the words
To tell each other
How much we love each other

When our eyes meet
My heart skips a beat
And I find myself wondering
How we never found
Each other before now
It just doesn't make sense

We could never stand
To be apart for too long
The inevitable force
That draws me to you
Grows ever stronger
Every day that we're together

poet John Clare

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
