Excuses Poem by Adriana Sofia

Excuses

When I'm with you,
Everything feels right.
When the night ends,
I want to go back to the beginning.
When you hold my hand,
My heart skips.
When you kiss me,
Time stops.

With all this said,
Why do I make excuses?
I obviously want to be with you,
But I always have an excuse.
Why do I do that?
I instantly regret it.
Why?
Excuses, excuses.

One day he'll get fed up.
Fed up with all the excuses.
And I'll be left there alone,
Once again.

Maybe it's time to tell him the truth.
Will he understand?
Will he leave me?
Will he even believe me?

The truth,
Here goes nothing...
I'm ill.
Can you still love me?

Sometimes we make excuses to hide, even if that means hiding from our own happiness; I completely understand this poem and the message. Good poem!
