Excuses Poem by David Blake

Excuses

Rating: 5.0

Why must you speak of things you
know nothing of? You would think
after all this time I wouldn’t notice
anymore, the way it hurts to breath.
Forced to see, I try to remember
that summer we spent by the sea.
Do you think we ever could have
seen the way all our dreams got
washed away? Can you still taste
the salt air on the breeze or fell the
warmth of the sun? Is the guilt gone
from all the things you said would
always be? Do you still smile when
you kiss? Why must you forever
remind me of what remains of a love
that is long since gone. I asked for
so much more than this, and again
you try to tell me about love.

There is more that just saying 'I Love You'! Man, women still do not understand us in real sense of loving! A 10.
