Eye Glass Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Eye Glass

Rating: 5.0

No one can ignore your value.
You're the reason why there's
light in front of me.
My eyes can see in the dark,
But your clear zeal to replace the
shadow by your little love all the
more ignites my desire to take
care of you.
One night, while I carefully lay
you by my side, I accidentally let
you fall.
Fear has suddenly let me rise up
from bed.
I earnestly look to find you,
Under the bed,
Somewhere in the table, in other
corners where we often see each
other,
And in the piles of reading
materials that we always share.
At last I've found you.
You're in between the pages of my favorite book,
Pinned.
Broken.
Maybe I did not notice that I left
you there,
In my excessive eagerness to
keep you safe,
Hoping that nothing can ever
harm you.

I temporarily store you,
So that when we meet again
someday, you're still the same as
before.
