Fade In.... Fade Out...(Dream Sequence) Poem by Lyrael Myrna

Fade In.... Fade Out...(Dream Sequence)

Rating: 5.0

Such a starry cold night
Misty moors
Drunken shores
Deluded butterflies
Squashed up faces
Of many races
Together under My Moon
Keeping close
Looking in
On my life
Under the careful watch
Of Sirius
Barking at me
Such a great companion long ago
He used to look after me
Every night…
Permitted me to endure sight
In the wintertime he’d sleep
Behind the clouds
And I was left to weep
Under my velvet blankets
In deep blood soaked snow

Fade out…

And the funny thing was
It never really made sense
All these dreams
They had to mean something…

And I find it slightly mad
That I exist because
The stars exist with me
Relying on their beauty
To feel any emotion at all
Not even the touch of a man’s
Warm hands on my shoulder
Makes me show any sign
That I’m even from this planet…
I must be from a galaxy far far away
Stuck on this Earth
With out a home and family
One of a kind
With a secret at stake…

And I find it frightening
That if all the stars one day
Go out…

Who will be there to protect me?
Who will give me the ability to see?
All the beauty in this world…

Maybe I need to open my eyes
Start laughing a little
Shake these feelings away
Throw some questions
Into the deep end
To diminish my insecurities
My delusions
And my dreams

But I can’t help but wonder…

No one is truly alone…
Are they?

Very deep and thought-provoking poem, Lyrael. I especially like the lines, 'Throw some questions Into the deep end To diminish my insecurities...' Excellent imagery there. Warmest regards, CJ
