Fading Dreams Poem by Herbert Dry

Fading Dreams

Reaching forth a wanting hand holding a hearts desire
closing my hand tighter and tighter my hand now empty it
was only a fading dream
For a moment joy surges then it too fades away, there is
hope of hearing the voice of a friend of times past, there is
no sound hope also fades away
Everything is measured by time then times also fades
away, we are left empty caught only for a moment in fading
dreams
