Fading Out Poem by Paul Burt

Fading Out

As time ticks away, I prepare for my final moment, I see pictures from my life and remember all the good times in my life.
The sunshine beams it's warm rays onto me, I've seen so many things and
done so many things with so little time one person has in life.

As I lay there I am at comfort to know that family and friends are by side,
as they put on a brave face, there's not a dry eye among them as they know my time is soon to end.

I tell them not to cry, not to feel sad but be with me until the very last moment, as the sun sets I feel no more pain, I have no more regrets, I have lived my life to the fullest.

As daylight fades, I slowly begin to fade, as I close my eyes and breath my last breath, everything around me fades to black as I am now finally at peace waiting for my family and friends in the afterlife
