I moved far away
& found a different taste in the air.
I've always dreamed to kiss the hand
of an opportunity
I never knew.
My body clothed in your lips.
My lungs baptized in your breath.
I kneel & kiss the ground of your feet,
Running night & day.
I moved far away
to find a different taste in the air.
Carrying nothing but the clothes
on my back
I had no map, no real sense of direction.
My heart raced
Not knowing whether to stop or slow down.
With no clear indication of a finish line
My heart raced searching for a sign.
A bright colored tape of some kind,
The Charlie horse of desire near
The sun hot & bright.
To have met you was a breath of fresh air.
The country I never knew
You taught me faith
& accepted me for who I am
