Fake Smile Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Fake Smile

The fallen of your tears
have brought me laughter
Ain't somebody who is sorry
saying bye to bad company
Don't worry, if time says leave,
I'm going be leaving.
Cause you're somewhere I don't want to be
Can you check your mileage?
I think it's run its course out of gas
You're saddened by the pain
Embarrassed and ashamed
To be honest, then and now,
you've been the one to blame.
Unlike you, I fake no smiles
Unlike you, I am alright
And you can say, you're feeling fine
But we both know that it's a lie
I've sensed the change in your body language
Come with significant amount of baggage
Though given your best to cope and manage
How you've been robbed and wasn't cradled
Misery invited me a seat at the table
But I said, no, I've declined the offer
So melancholic, I've trimmed the fat
Unhealthy weight to where it was at
