Fall Poem by Hareem Z K

Fall

Rating: 5.0

Fall, the rains from the scudding ebony clouds
Down an innocent girl cries, her eyes they tame
Fall, the leaves off their trees in autumn
Their halcyon days are gone, they mourn in flame
Fall, the words from my lips with exquisite stir
They tell of the world, saying everythig but your name
Fall, the fellows in matters of heart and soon realize
Vying with the world; it's in fact too hard a game
Fall, the standards of feelings and relationships
Their beloved have left, fate's disloyalties they blame
Fall, the tears off my eyes; is it a false grief?
How could you leave when you never came!

“scudding ebony clouds”- I’ve always seen the lengthening shadows of day under the onerous monsoon clouds but “ebony” -it always eluded the frail fingers of skin-deep thoughts Fall, the words from my lips with exquisite stir- musical when you never came- “you made a promise or was that an imagined thought imagination so thorough that it leaves no doubt go back where you came from why I say so when you came not when it rained”
