Fall And Rise Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fall And Rise

Fall and rise

Among songs that I like
Sinatra's
"I did it…" in "my way" is the best.

I too have been on way
seen, crossed the borders
have witnessed and observed
walls fallen, broken
in fire thrones burn.

The fall of Muscovites
and the rise of Uzbeks
Azeri and Tajiks.

I have seen rise and fall
of palace to shanty
even worse…

Saw queen, princess
selling arms, below chest.

And today's passenger…
Shangri-La to the Main
her body for dollar…
for bread and butter…

I could feel man's smell…
Reagan and Gorbachev must answer.
