Fallen Angel

I thought I had met an angel
for I had fallen far enough
but you couldn't help me with my broken wings
And you left me to wander in the dark

I would've met an angel
had you helped me
though my broken wings
cannot be fixed

It seems I met a demon
for you lie there and laugh
though I have fallen
I shall not be tempted

Through the tears, I see a way
Despite my broken wings, I shall follow
I shall find serenity
in this hell

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
