Fallin' Poem by Precy Brozas Varilla

Fallin'

Falling forever
Is what I seem
Down below
To a ground
Impossibly
Bleak and cold
Far away
Towards oblivion.

Hush!
It's alright
I tell myself.
This is all a dream
A universe in reverse
And when it turns
I'll wake up
Any minute now
To face a new day.

Then,
I came down
With a rumpled crash
On a raft once more
Of interwoven lies.
Somehow,
It's no different
Just like each time
I take a flight
A tower of deceptions
Claims me back.

I knew it!
I knew it well.
A curse
Right from the start
You won't let me go
I'll never have my rest
I see it in thine eyes.
Silence is but a myth
To a crowded sea
With crashing waves
Like this inner turmoil
I grudgingly keep.
