Falling Abysmal Poem by Andy Brookes

Falling Abysmal

So the pieces dissipate abstract in raspberry skies, purple clouds,
patterns in the vaults before the pin pricks silver the velvet obsidian skies.

the world turns and we turn and I turn and you turn away.
round the daily earth sunrise to sunset and back
orbits ad infinitum

were we ever in love or did you think it was a game
I took it too seriously I know but you, you played at it,
like a game you had to win.
you used me as your cats paw and I fell and fell and fell

the deepness of love is infinite they say
yes and so and so and so unfathomable
fox and hounds, stag and hunter, the rabbit tremble in their burrows.

so the pieces dissipate and we drift away, away we drift
and I fall and fall and fall shattering on landing
wings burnt but still intact.

the heart, well the heart, I'm not too sure about.
