False Expressions Poem by Torence Lavender

False Expressions

I do not care for maquerades.
The false expressions dancing around me
They appear to all be happy but what are their true emotions?
What actually lies behind the masks?
A man confronts a woman who appears to be beautiful.
They dance and laugh together for the rest of teh evening
But what happens at the end of the night and the masks are removed?
There will be disappointment from the expectations caused by the false expressions.
