Family Poem by Jibrael Jos

Family

Some families are loving
Some a bit too much
Some are not in talking terms
Some talk too much

Some feel the hugs
And some feel the squeeze
Some feel suffocated
And some feel the breeze

Some families are scattered
In quest for bread
It maybe based on distance
Or based on their work shift instead

Some families are nuclear
In more ways than one
They have a blast!
From outside it seems fun

For some it is perfect
For some a compromise
For some love is like warm fire
For some it's cold as ice

Sharing and caring
Isn't that the whole point
But some families are together
with an ache in the joint!

Some who live alone
Have broadened their scope
They share their love with the needy
And with those without hope

Some are blessed with a kid
Some are blessed with two
But for those who are waiting
And waiting and waiting
Home seems to bite back at you

Some kids study out of town
Some kids study abroad
But when they come back
Home seems blessed by God

Families serve a purpose
Families serve a cause
If yours is not functional
When do you plan to play
Or do you prefer
to leave it on a pause?
