Family Matters Poem by Fred Babbin

Family Matters

I was not abused, but let's say I had a very interesting childhood.

I had a mother
like no other.
Not as good
as now I would
have wished.

And a father
I would rather
never talk about.

They’re ancestors.
They are the blisters
on the family tree.
