Far Distance Poem by Jennifer Rose

Far Distance

At a distance,
it's hard to stay together.
Even from where I am,
I could feel your hug.
The meaning behind your words,
when you said them.
It hurst though,
to never be able to see you.
With my own two eyes.
Does that mean we can't love?
Is it impossible for it to come true?
My hand grasping at empty air,
wanting to feel yours.
My cold arms,
awaiting the embrace that warms.
I love you.
No matter the distance.
It pulses and aches through me,
more than you can imagine.
Love hurts, no?
I knew all this, way before it happened.
I'm sorry, I can't do more.
Forgive the distance and me.
