Farmer Poem by Phurpa Wangdi

Farmer

a farmer?
they say the lowest people
it comes to my ear
yet as a poison

waking but with so little sleep
spends sleepless nights
restless days
yet never giving up

failure story they have to unfold
yet success story they have to tell
from as low as a beggar
they reached a height no one dare climb

punctuality and sincerity
is their habit
to sustain their life
what have they not done

if there is a people we need to respect
farmers they are called
backbone of the country
i salute them
