Fear Poem by Ricky Lewis

You live out your life like a normal human being, caring and kind
You find something good for you, impeccable, not a flaw to find
So you cherish and love it, care for it as if it were part of you
But you don’t know what’s around the corner, you’re flying blind

Soon you realize, your bleak life is empty and passing quickly by
So much work has to be done to fill the blanks, might as well die
Then it comes to you, savior in the night, help amongst the plight
Reevaluate the times, work a little hard and give it another try

Before you know it you’re paranoid
Too late to change, it’s all devoid
New voices in your head, becoming schizoid
And with a clash of death your life is destroyed

What do you do now, when your world crashes in?
What do you do when you know you can’t win?

Now instantly the happiness you knew is turning into ash
With your whole entire being coming to a deathly crash
Still in shock, paralyzed with fear, just wipe away a tear
Final wish, this was your reason to be, gone in a flash

Before you know it you’re paranoid
Too late to change, it’s all devoid
New voices in your head, becoming schizoid
And with a clash of death your life is destroyed

What do you do now, when your world crashes in?
What do you do when you know you can’t win?

Try to forget, try to let go, instead, insanity takes total control
Without it, your just a shell, cold and you’ll never be whole
Now you are forsaken to accept it all, can’t change the past
Just step back and realize, that its left a black scar on your soul

All you can do is walk away from the sounds and sights
Lay down your arms, pull back your fists and give up the fight
Don’t ever forget the times you had, both good and bad
Look to the skies, clarity arrives, it’s there, in a million little lights
