Fear Poem by Kenji McCollum

Fear

Fear is something that eats me,
Causes me to have anxiety over everything,
It eats my stomach away,
Causes my chest,
To feel as a brick was placed on me,
I think of every possible outcome,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
Bouncing and shaking my leg out of reassurance,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
My hands are shaky making it hard to do anything,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
Feeling eyes on the back of my neck,
Concerned of my looks constantly,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
I feel chills going down my whole body,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
Breathing so heavy everything feels dizzy,
On the verge of passing out,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
Reassurance helps wonders,
My fear disappears,
When he is able to give me reassurance,
And I am glad,
That my anxiety is gone for a little longer
