Fears Battle In The Dark Poem by Jon ProskeyVigil

Fears Battle In The Dark

Fear in the darkness seeping into your bones;
turning you into a lifeless slab of stone.
Paralyzing you where you stand;
blood slowly seeping down your hand.
The cuts on your arms and face;
you've come at last to the end of this race.
Just you and the beaststand together;
your courage blows away with the wind like a feather.
It nashes its teeth and a growl escapes;
your fear creates visionsas death drapes.
Hanging over you about to fall;
it seems there is no hope for you at all.
A change in the wind brings your courage back;
and no longer is it streangth you lack.
The beast no longer seems so strong and mighty;
you stand up straight and roar back greatly.
Chasing the beast to and fro around in the dark;
it finds a tree and begins to climb but can't grip the bark.
It falls from up high in its mighty perch;
even though you look all around, it's disapeared, so you abandon your search.
Your battle with this evil is now at its end;
you set off for home which lies around the bend.
