Feedback Poem by Manager Poet

Feedback

Use it as a performance truss.
Before you do, this I must discuss.
Trust must be present in real-time.
Without it, you’re just another mime.

Feedback should be work related.
It should be current and not belated.
Give it within 72 hours to be effective.
As a manager, feedback is not an elective.

Focus on actions and not the person.
Doing the opposite makes matters worsen.
Praise in public and correct in private.
This is important so don’t forget.

When feedback overwhelms, consider this.
Surprise by the employee will certainly exist.
Make no mistake with humans anger is next.
Then comes rationalization and being perplexed.

At last acceptance comes to the employee.
Use the acronym SARA to aid your memory.
Giving feedback requires you to listen well.
Keep asking your employee questions pray tell.

Those who seek your counsel deserve your gift.
Be specific and timely to not let them drift.
One more line and the managerpoet is through.
Without giving feedback, how effective are you?
