Feeling Anxious Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Feeling Anxious

Stumbling-
Through the amazons
Still with a positive tinge-
From the toads that mimic
Leading to deadly snakes
And from beautiful macaws
To colourfully billed toucans
Adding much more to the surprise.

Also taking a walk in the reef-
At tide ebbs, seabed laying bare
Fascinating underwater world
Struggling against uncertainties.

Tales in-between the lines-
A bridge across the languages
Afresh take on peninsular India
Inheritors of a ruptured history.

Third generation of Kashmiri Pandits
And the Buddhists from Tibet-
Finding themselves in the crosshairs
Since their forefathers fled to Delhi.

Today the space, their native place
Where they were born and bred
Both with profound emotions-
Homesick and excited feeling anxious.
