Final Goodbye Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Final Goodbye

Her memory haunts me like she was still here,
In my heart is where I hold her so dear.
I had no choice but to let her go,
That doesn’t mean I can’t love her so.
We’re still friends, but it’s just not the same.
And it still hurts just saying her name.
The passion is gone but the love is still there.
I wish she could see how much I still care.
She cannot say I didn’t cry
When the time came, and she said goodbye.
I have to move on, and get on with my life.
But the pain still cuts me just like a knife.
I’d say I won’t miss her, but that’s just a lie.
So this must be my final goodbye.
