Fishbowl Heads Poem by Lillian P.k

Fishbowl Heads

A clear fishbowl has been cast upon my head and I am alienated.
I see in all different colors, beautiful and blue,
But no-one understands
least of all you

I feel as though this is a dream, that I will soon wakeup.
Instead I am still here, pushed along by the current of time...

On my journey I pass many things, but it looks different from in here,
The fishbowl magnifies my problems,
diminishing the rest

I can see others in detail and the threats that they face;
Some are lost in hunger,
swelling in absurd need
Others are rich in money, immortality, greed.

We are all the same,
Unfortunately; all wearing fishbowl heads
We cannot see past our own distortion of the world;
Focusing on Me, Myself, and My head.

The world we live in is a world we share, but we live separately in our own fishbowls,
Pretending others aren't really there.

From the outside looking in,
we are just another of the six billion and more.
But from the inside, we each cost
much
Much
more.
