Fisher Man Poem by Victoria Gauci

Fisher Man

One night there was a star above,
For all the world to see,
Angels, Kings and Shepherds all,
Down on bended knee,

He was given to us...our Savior,
To extinquish all our sins,
To guide us to the path correct,
To lead us home again,

Our heavenly Fathers' love for us,
So immense and overwhelming,
He gave the life of His son for us,
A gift for understanding,

The babe born in a manger,
To become a fisher man,
A gatherer of men and souls,
A traveler through the land,

His words were spoken with truth and joy,
His disciples were his tools,
To spread his word throughout the world,
To tell all of the good news,

Follow him to the kingdom,
For the Lord has our place there,
Shelter from the dust and rubble,
A place of love, peace and care,

But not too fast he wants us there,
For our work here is not done,
To find the souls that are lost and alone,
To collect them all as one.
