Flashback Poem by Billy Loving

Flashback

Bombs deafening blast
Flashback from the past
Shrapnel pierces the skin
Final charge about to begin

Bodies falling to the ground
Pools of crimson blood surround
Relentless unyielding attack
Force of explosion causes me to stumble back

Fear and trepidation, I lack
To reality, snapping back
Trembling hand, holds the pill
Profusely sweating, the water I spill
