Flat Stanley's Spring Tour Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Flat Stanley's Spring Tour

Rating: 5.0

To Flat Stanley:

Thank you for visiting our Annville Paradise
Where we live with our two cats inside.
We also have six cats roaming outside.
We can't wait to see Evan here in summer time.
Here, he ran, played and climbed.
He also enjoyed feeding Koi fish outside.

Thank you for staying over night
So we can take you to a town nearby: :
A small historic Annville of Pennsylvania
Where Evan enjoyed his Subway meals with big smiles.
Once over there, Evan cried out very loud hysterically
When he saw his sister losing her baby tooth.
We were glad that you came here at a good time
When cherry blossoms waited for you outside.

We took you to visit Lebanon Valley College
Where Evan's dad received his several degrees.
We took you to visit Hershey library
Where Evan and his sisters loved to visit.
Evan's grandma took them there many times
When they came to stay at Annville Paradise.

We also took you to Hershey Chocolate World
Where Evan enjoyed riding since being a toddler.

We stopped by at Pho Miss Saigon for lunch
Where you were our special guest.
We enjoyed our special bowls of Pho,
Mango smoothie and the Vietnamese iced milk coffee.

Thank you for visiting our Annville Paradise.
We hope that you had a very good time.
Have a safe trip home
And please bring Evan this note
So he can share this with his teacher and friends.
We can't wait to see his Very Big Smile!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Flat Stanley is an educational friend of our grandson Evan who is six years old. He sent Flat Stanley to our home as a special guest and we are supposed to take his friend to different places so he can learn something about geography, places etc. Evan and his sisters gave me the nickname "Froggy Grandpa" to differentiate from their maternal grandpa. Evan was about 3 years old and it was much easier for him to say "froggy" than saying frog at that young age when I took them to find frogs around their home pool and backyard in the evenings.
