Fly Poem by Yamini Khanna

Fly

Rating: 5.0

The Dark Clouds angry and prepared
Precipitating, Thunderous beware
How long must i, this weather endure?
Will the suffering end, Can someone assure?

Set me free, I want to fly

Chained and Shackled, with restrained Steps
My hands i reach out. and love beget
Miles on end, unheard my cries
Fluttering leaves, and echo in reprise

Set me free, I want to fly

Heart pounding, drumming against my chest
In and out, a resounding shallow breath
Shrieking gasps, Momentary rests
Milk dried up like in a Mother's Breast

Set me free, i want to fly

Who am i, Where am I
My purpose in life, in humour wry
Experience learnt and Lesson kept
piercing pain, to handle adept

Set me free, I want to fly

Weary and tired, my Hunger died
galloping thoughts on waves astride
Body and Soul and Mental flashes
Ashes to Dust, Dust to Ashes

Set me free, I want to fly
