The shadows share a different shade tonight:
a different dark caressed by different eyes,
where nightmares sleep and phantoms draw the light,
new embers spark and twist across new skies.
And each small flame flares warm like happiness,
like tiny smiles shining in the cold,
for hopes to touch, for lips to taste, to kiss;
for dreams to wake and gather forth to hold.
A stranger's quest had wandered far too long;
a foreigner in search of what was plain;
on every windswept cairn his search was wrong
for shifting through the ashes finds but pain.
Still learning by himself but not alone -
Through his own heart - another's saw him home...
