Footprints Of A Shadow Poem by yellowbell alamanda

Footprints Of A Shadow

Rating: 5.0

It was along time ago
when we both dig
and buried our sorrow
I promised not to look back
but you came in a shadow.

The memories that hid
behind the rising sun,
dive into the dark water
and find something on the sand.

We tried not to leave footprints
so impossible without hints.
You were asking of a broken cap
the one that we purchased
from a fancy shop.

I remembered
we tried to put those pieces back
but we turned off the light.
We slowly fades
gone from each others sight.

You were walking so fast
while I could step still
on your shadow
but then the wet earth
made me slipped.

That was just a great visit
i know, now that the sun
completely on its set
and I think it was wrong
to feel so upset!

My shadow was alienated
so far, alone but free
I'm proud of what I've made
I caught it and sewn it on my feet
I'd picked up myself
and I survived.
The sun burned your shadow
the tide cleaned and washed my sorrow.
