For Mid April Poem by Francis Duggan

For Mid April

In the sunny blue sky just a few patches of gray
For mid Autumn and April such a warm Summer like day
A weather temperature high for the day of twenty seven degrees
And a non seasonal warmth in the gentle breeze
That blow up the hill from the Pacific shore
A near to perfect evening who could ask for more
The dams low in water despite the recent rain
And the creeks flowing at a trickle and bone dry every drain
And though the dry and bare countryside in drought does remain
With such warm and sunny weather seems hard to complain
The flute like songs so pleasant to hear
Of the magpies who sing every day of the year
White butterflies seemingly in the sunshine play
For mid April it is such a beautiful day.
