For Only Us Two Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

For Only Us Two

Only?
Whom
is an only?
Are you an only?
Longing for that touch
of another's, deepening crush
thus, defeating that loneliness, that
only stretch of one's imagination
of one's own making, that one
mistake so many of US make
taking, all to many hours, of
a daze … it is the easiest to
wound one's own heart
with all of the times
spent in ‘missing'
one's thoughts
we each ought
not waste, this
time ever again.
Think clearly, as in
your most vivid dreams
and see, what it is you are
missing … that farthest part of
the touch by you, of that part of you
which you, are so not close to … realize
this first moment, realize how so deceptive
this worldly self can become … you, without
strength, living life as a lonely one … do not
please that thought … release that thought
which you were taught that as one, you
become … it is not so easily done, to
alone become … so, slowly undo
what you have done to the you
heal, that wound and soon …
day by day any ‘apart' can and
will become ‘a part' of someone
this is how; these things are done …
become "A" part, of someone, and become
more that somewhat done with that "missing you"
syndrome … in every dream; grow … wild and freed!
Suffer no more from what it is within you that bleeds
out your brightness and dims your smiles. In a dream
as thoughts fall, your living load becomes less dense
and heavy, and burdensome … as the sun arises
upon all of our feelings thus feeding you the
words with which to speak as these are
felt … from within come, allow your
self out! Shout! from within yourself!
Shout and allow in, that which you are
destined … in a dream, ‘our feelings' rise
‘our thoughts' meet, ‘our hearts' are rinsed
clean, and ‘our love' reaches into that realm
where no words need be spoken … in a dream
imagine that totem and there, upon the highest
seat is ‘our rest; ' above the images of our passed
moments, alone in self-loneliness, alone in ‘our'
oneness. All of this past is now to be forgotten
history forget the misery of that time each of
us did spend without US … meet me, in this
dream of two moons visible at the highest
noon on that daze; it is brightened
for only US two …
