For The Man On The Box Outside My Local Poem by Sheila Knowles

For The Man On The Box Outside My Local

Rating: 4.0

I came across a man
whose placid smile
unnerved me
he spoke of love regained
and life reborn
and as I watched his lips move
in rhythm with his
glazed expression
I questioned
the source of joy
his rantings spun

He tilted his head
and answered
he'd found Jesus
and the only thing
my muddled mind
could reply

I was unaware that he was lost

He is never lost we lose sight of him at times. Thus goes the saying I found Jesus. Some elated over the new found peace that is placed inside of us. Much like returning home after being gone for a long time. You captured this from a different stand point. Well done. Patricia Gale
