Forceps Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Forceps

Forceps

Collin called, left message
- "Disaster is weather,
-be careful, drive safe."

Right she was, I obeyed.

Was late, in hospital
-to test my prostate…

"So, what if have cancer?
-Don't we die, soon or late? "

I joked and hid fear!
This is my character!

Like to make them smile
-love it so and have loved.

Came in nurse with lecture
-and brought bracelet
- (on which lot is written,
-my name, birth and doctor.)

Told me of freezing
-injection in rectum
-and I felt like a girl
-first timer, a virgin.

After wearing the gown
-was sent to other one;
-strapped my legs and
-raised as if a woman's
-in labour with forceps…

Night before I had pain
-thinking of what and when
-comes result of cancer
-being there or not there!

Am proud, not naive
-don't want life if in need!
