Forever and a day

Forever and a day
It sounds like a long time
But the thought that it'll never end
Is no longer mine

Always and Forever
into the future it stretches out
Watch out for that wall
That means the end without doubt

Words these are
Power, I thought they had
To find that they don't
Has left me oh so sad

To keep their power
You have to believe
So believe it now
And you it will relieve

Nothing lasts forever
Much as we want it to
There's always an end
Your heart breaks in two

They're just words after all
Powered by the hope
That we invest in them
Does hope last forever? Nope

When hope is told to die
These words lose their meaning
The death of meaning is painful
Or so to me it's seeming

These words so wonderful are
Now they're naught but words
Their power, once so great
Has gone the way of the birds

June 7th is the end of forever
The 8th the extra day
Forever has lost it's meaning
In every single way

Old fashioned that I am
Forever's power still holds sway
For me it still holds the power
To chase my fears away

I don't ever dare invoke it
Unless I mean it from my heart
That eternally I'll be there
And I will never depart

Not just words are they for me
When those words I do say
I mean it lasts forever
Forever and a day

poet Alfred Lord Tennyson

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
