Forever Lost Poem by Matt Burgett

Forever Lost

Standing around at the winters tale
You'd think I made it through
I hoped and prayed I would not fail
But damaged inside I crawl to you

The months of cold and white hit me
Like a brick wall right to my fist
It battered out my emotions clean
It left me all but pissed

And without a razor to drain my life
I wander around hopelessly lost
Looking all directions for a way that's right
I'm hoping it leads me to a field of frost

Shaking wishing wanting to
Do all the things I want to do
But razors gone I promised no
These scars I bare I hide to show

So now my mind is fading
Out the window it was tossed
Caught by wind in the jet stream
I feel right now forever lost
