Forgiveness Poem by Lacey UnKnown

Forgiveness

He watches the blood drip from his wrists
And fill the sink in front of him
What was I thinking? he wonders in fear
As his sight grows dim and he glances in the mirror
For just a second he can see
The face of God as He quietly weeps
The realization slowly creeps in
Those tears are for me, as I wallow in sin
God, please help me, I don't have much time
Forgive me Father, my life is not mine
Not mine to give and not mine to take
It all belongs to You, You died for my sake
The blood stops flowing, his sight is regained
But to this day, the scars remain
They remind him of the joy he found that night
The night when he knew to make things right
If the Lord saved him, then why not you?
If Jesus died for his sins, then he died for yours too.
