Forgone Poem by Sheri Green

Forgone

As I gaze into the cold, still waters before me
The bitter tears of grief are all I see

For my poor body has borne sorrows untold
That have left my spirit battered and cold

Perhaps in time, death will set me free
And I can return to the dust from which I came to be
