Fortitude Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

He went on a journey through the dark days of time;
the mountain of troubles became so hard to climb.
He kept on carrying the weight of the burden;
although the load on his shoulder brought him much pain.

He faced the storm in his mind's strength and grittiness;
When rugged wind did strike, he remained just fearless.
Undaunted, he stayed calm midst lightning and thunder;
with courage, his hope and his trust did not waver.

He crossed the ocean of danger to reach the goal
of his mind, of his heart, of his life, of his soul.
When sea waves showed their strong stroke, he looked at the sky;
Constancy and firmness of grasp did not die.

He believed in the self-confidence that would play
the role of making the shakiness fade away.
