Fourteen Years In A Flash. Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

Fourteen Years In A Flash.

Rating: 5.0

I just sat on an abandoned beach
In the sun, then the rain with my old dog
Stroking her and playing together with
The wind and her flying ears
Her back was pressed hard against my body
Time and the two of us sat still
For the saddest moment
She sits like this to reflect
Also to protect me
From the sea air and
Other dangers in her mind
There were tears on my face
But you would think it rain stain
This friendship is drawing to and end
Old age is taking her by the day and
Mother Nature colours her face grey and
Slows her step, she has cataracts coming
She licks my tears off that no one else sees
And smiles at me with eyes of deep hazel
Quietly she beckons
Come on mate lets walk back
To the truck in this beautiful rain
Along our abandoned beach
Alone and together.

Sitting in a beach under sun and then under rain gives amazing effect in mind. This beautiful beach scribbles mind and reflects wonderful imagery in this poem....10
