Free Fall Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Free Fall

Free fall

I flew, flew high
Carried men and women
And almost everything
On palettes, loose and tied
To airports, to drop
Paratroops, Para-drops…

Yes was an aviator…

In times when we soared to altitudes
Of thousands above earth
I issued the warnings
Hour's half to drop
To minutes, "Green Light"
For one or many more
To attempt free fall
I questioned, in my heart:
"And what if…? "

Days and things have all changed
But remains the question:
"And what if…? "

One of such was seeing a cockroach
When jumping off a rack for meters
Clever had heard me; coming in
Fell flat on tummy, ‘dizzy? '
Soon on run!

I questioned:
"And what if…? "

And still do wonder:
"Do they feel the pain too? "
"And what if was smashed? "
"Do they have sense of height? "
"Was it just just…? "

Not at all romantic
Even sounds crazy
I call it: "Poetry! ! ! "
