Friends Not Lovers

A little curve of smile,
A small moment of talk,
Makes me forget all,
The memories and pains of days,
You were not with me,
Are also forgotten,
And all I look forward to,
Is our friendship,
Fresh, stronger and new.

The days I loved,
And acted foolish,
Did no good to me,
And now I am wiser,
I am not in love's sea anymore,
I am happy with our friendship,
Standing just on shore.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

A girl whom one of my friend liked didn't want complications of love life
but friendship was acceptable.
This little song is based on her.
(actually it is her lover i.e my best friend narrating situations in this poem)
