Friendship Taking Flight - Poem by Barbara Weber

Flocking, pairing, flying alone-
Tentative hatchling-
Wobbling, stumbling, and tripping over garland nest.
Pecking, raspberries bursting, earthworms squirming
Substance insuring.
Will it live or die-
Nature or nurture-
From a nestling, souls wresting
Not to closely meshing
Closely meshing
Wings touching,
Friendship taking flight
