From A Boy To A Man Poem by art kuttler

From A Boy To A Man

she
fears your words she will never hear again
not here nor there but every where
your face she'll see no more
as you do push ups off the floor
training for war
far from home with nothing but a phone
holidays & birthdays fly by
and your mother prays
you don't
die
you left home just a boy playing with toys
now throwing grenades and carrying guns
volunteering to fight for our great land
at time of war
as many boys before have done
when your duty is done and to your home you run
a sweet reunion it will be between
a
mother and a son.
