From This World I Want To Turn Back Again Poem by Mohammad Younus

From This World I Want To Turn Back Again

From this world I want to turn back again,
To the divine realm of peace and serenity.
Just to see once more, how in eternity,
You had breathed Your Spirit into me.
This world hurts like hell to me,
For it's not the same beautiful place,
As was the lost eternal paradise.

This world like hell, sometimes hurts me,
For in negligence, I fail to see myself,
In Your pleasant presence.
Divine always welcomes, never declines.
Yet in ignorance,
I sometimes miss Your presence.
I confess my guilt,
I am caught in delusion and illusion.
When I awaken, I see You ever-present.
But I pray, veil me always by Your light
and sound.

Oh, do not go away from me,
do not leave me alone.
Let me be in Your perennial presence,
Let me be in Your perpetual Zikr.
Oh, do not leave me alone,
with my enemies lurking within.
