Fruit Of Knowledge Poem by Olusegun Akanbi

Fruit Of Knowledge

I may not have sweet words
Because the truth is bitter
And not all is real
Like the Fool's gold they do not glitter
In this world of tribulation and strife
I have seen disappointments half way of my life
My knowledge may be limited
But when you taste the fruit of knowledge
Your eyes will open wide
You will see beyond anger and pride
But if you fear the Lord
You do not need the fruit of knowledge
Because knowledge will come to you
But I rely on the Divine light
That it may take me to greater height
Some see me as the enemy but my heart is filled with love
I am not a hawk dear friend
I am a dove
Trying to understand the inner workings of
a state
And the presciptions that make a lay man great
The fruits of knowledge
May deceive poor souls
To a journey of no roads
